Welcome to Drawing Water from a Deeper Well
Planned Parenthood professionals are at the forefront of a worldwide movement to create an equitable and humane society within a
viable and sustainable community.
At a time when comprehensive sexuality education is under attack, abortion rights are being threatened and many educators and
trainers feel isolated or even besieged, we look forward to this opportunity to exchange ideas, disseminate best practices, develop new skills,
explore emerging topics and create support systems to unite us in our common cause. We are thrilled to invite you to join us at APPLE’s
2008 National Conference for Educators and Trainers.

APPLE
The Association of Planned Parenthood Leaders in Education (APPLE) was formally established at the Education Director’s
Retreat in Atlanta, Georgia in November, 1990. APPLE was organized to provide a nationwide network for education managers through which ongoing
support, assistance and professional expertise could be shared. APPLE members enjoy a quarterly newsletter, present annual recognition (the
APPLE awards), and provide mentoring and partnership to new PP Education leaders. The APPLE Board and work groups are moving forward with 2006
field-determined priorities which include developing white papers on our issues, establishing standards for professional development and program
design, and determining ways to communicate our expertise and experience within the PP family and in our worlds. APPLE is proud to endorse this
conference and offer scholarships for this exciting learning opportunity.

Planned Parenthood of Indiana
Planned Parenthood of Indiana (PPIN) is uniquely suited to carry out its mission: to protect, provide and promote reproductive health.
Focused on helping women and men make lifelong responsible and informed choices, Planned Parenthood’s services overwhelmingly focus
on prevention. As the fourth largest affiliate, PPIN provides over 112,000 services to women and men annually at 35 health centers across
Indiana. We recently celebrated our 75th anniversary of providing access to sexuality information and reproductive health services.
